Hexthrope Doncaster

The restoration was undertaken for Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and the friends of Hexthorpe park. These gates were also originally made by the blacksmiths Bayliss Jones and Bayliss of Wolverhampton and were a good example of their ironwork, however very sadly in terrible condition throughout. Major straightening and reversal of the corrosion process was needed, extensive jacking of the iron had to be removed from joints in the sections and refitted on site in a slightly different location to be more useful to the layout of the park as it is now.
